Library Research Databases

The online subscription databases in the Drake Library are available to students from their home computers. Passwords needed for home access can be found in the back of the student planner. Below are brief descriptions of the databases:

Gale Student Resource Center
Thousands of primary documents, biographies, background information on historical events, and full-text coverage of over 650 magazines. A great place to start a research project.

EBSCOhost Databases
Full-text articles from nearly 600 popular magazines, plus newspapers, reference books, health information, and more.

Points of View Reference Center
Essays and articles presenting multiple sides of current topics. Start here for research on controversial issues.

Curriculum Video on Demand
A collection of over 5,000 educational and archival films and newsreels, accessed via streaming video.

Teen Health & Wellness
Comprehensive information and self-help tools on topics like diseases, drug and alcohol abuse, nutrition and fitness, mental health, diversity, family life, and more.

CultureGrams
Concise information on land and climate, greetings, gestures, diet, holidays, family, education, personal appearance, and more for 182 countries of the world.
